The Israel National Rifleman Association   (INRA) evolved from the Volunteer Sniper

Units of the Israel Civil Guard.

Following a decision to dissolve these units, a group of full- bore shooting enthusiasts decided to start a club which would represent the various classes of shooting disciplines i.e. full bore, F-class, match rifle, service rifle and so forth.

The membership includes enthusiasts from all walks of life, Military Shooters, Hunters and Olympic shooters.

The process of forming such a grouping was long and complicated due to the number of beaurocratic bodies involved. Ministry of Interior,Ministry of Education, Israel Police and National Shooting Association, each having to be in agreement before the final permission was given. However with much goodwill on their part, this was obtained.

The Association (INRA) carries on a tradition of some thirty years built up by The Civil Guard Sniper Units in training and competition. Members of the former Association have taken part in full bore competitions in Europe and Africa and US equiting themselves honourably. Emphasis is made on professionalism and safety.

The Israel National Rifleman Association has connections with many similar bodies in all parts of the world and competes with these groups by sending and receiving competing groups and includes also postal competitions with different clubs.
